Welcome to AKILA

A MODERN EYEWEAR CONCEPT

AKILA Eyewear is made to be easily adjusted for the perfect fit. Everyone's fit is unique, and no face is perfectly symmetrical. That's one of the many reasons why we love acetate – a malleable and eco-friendly material made from cotton and tree pulp.

Adjustments can generally be made by hand, here's how we recommend adjusting the fit to your specs. Don't worry, the sunglasses are strong and made to last a lifetime!

If you're not comfortable bending your frames yourself, bring them into Flower District Gift Shop we'll be happy to assist you. You can also get adjustments done at your local optician.

A few simple tips & tricks will keep your frames like new for a long time to come.

Store your new AKILA frames in the included eyewear case whenever you’re not wearing them to avoid scratches or accidents. Never leave your frames in direct sunlight in a non-ventilated space as the extreme heat can warp the acetate.

To clean your lenses, use a small spray of lens cleaner or a sprinkle of water and wipe dry with the enclosed lens cloth. We do not recommend wiping the lenses with a dry cloth or t-shirt as it can be abrasive.

We plant a tree on your behalf for each pair of glasses sold on our site in partnership with the Eden Reforestation Projects. Eden works with local communities to restore forests on a massive scale, thereby creating jobs, protecting ecosystems and helping mitigate climate change.

Through AKILA's recycling program, you can send back your used up AKILA Eyewear and we will repair and donate them for reuse, or responsibly recycle the components. In return, we'll pay it forward and send you a discount code for a new pair. It's one of the many steps we're taking towards sustainability.

Artist Series Cleaning Cloth

We partnered with some of our favorite artists and friends to create special edition artist series cleaning cloths. A random cloth design is included with each pair of sunglasses, along with a cork leather carrying case. Each cloth is limited to 1000 pieces and will not be reproduced. This is an ongoing series, if you'd like to contribute, reach out to us here!
