NEON GREEN AND BLACK ACETATE / BLUE LENS / SILVER HARDWARE

We linked with our good friends at ROKIT to make some exclusive colors of our core Apollo style. Apollo is a chunky frame with flat “zero base” lenses to fuse a classic era with the current wave, subtly refining a timeless silhouette.

Each pair is handmade in limited numbers to maintain precision and quality that will look great and last for years.

We plant a tree for each pair of glasses sold on our website in partnership with Eden Reforestation Projects.

  • Eco-conscious acetate frame
  • Optical Class 1 nylon lenses for clarity and durability
  • 100% UVA/UVB protection
  • Durable 5-barrel hinges with stainless steel temple cores for strength and flexibility

Sustainable Design

AKILA Eyewear is designed to last & handcrafted from eco-friendly plant-based cellulose acetate.

Cellulose acetate is a natural bioplastic made from the fibers of cotton or wood pulp. This compound is then mixed with various colored dyes, block casted, then sliced into sheets or chipped into tiny color pellets. The final product is biodegradable and renewable.

Independent Frame of Mind

AKILA is an independent eyewear brand based in Los Angeles focused on handmade unisex sunglasses at anti-industry pricing.

Part of our mission is to provide a platform for brands and creatives to express their progressive outlooks. By providing access to better manufacturing and technical assistance, brands can offer new and exciting eyewear at a better quality than what they previously had within reach.

Uncompromising Quality

AKILA frames are handcrafted from premium acetate and stainless steel with Optical Class 1 nylon lenses. Each style goes through meticulous design, engineering and production processes to ensure top quality eyewear.

Every pair of sunglasses takes over 90 days to complete and requires more than 100 steps from start to finish.
