AKILA Eyewear has opened the doors of their new Los Angeles flagship store, marking their fourth retail location worldwide.

The new AKILA LA flagship was designed by AKILA’s in-house design team along with Los Angeles architecture/design firm 22RE. Its overall motif emphasizes craftsmanship, and blends natural materials with a focus on modern precision. The layout prominently features woodwork that is sourced from Douglas fir trees native to the Pacific Coast. Metal and glass work complete the interior composition, with skylights and a curved illumination grid that serves as a subtle nod to AKILA’s design at their first retail store in New York.

The AKILA LA storefront sits inside the new Sunset Row development in the heart of Silver Lake. The recently completed art deco complex is nestled inside a reimagined former auto body shop from the 1930s – which serendipitously matches AKILA’s own brand ethos of creating classic designs with modern sensibilities.
