AKILA Eyewear is made to be easily adjusted for the perfect fit. Everyone's fit is unique, and no face is perfectly symmetrical. That's one of the many reasons why we love acetate – a malleable and eco-friendly material made from cotton and tree pulp.

A few simple tips & tricks will keep your frames like new for a long time to come.

Store your new AKILA frames in the included eyewear case whenever you’re not wearing them to avoid scratches or accidents. Never leave your frames in direct sunlight in a non-ventilated space as the extreme heat can warp the acetate.

To clean your lenses, use a small spray of lens cleaner or a sprinkle of water and wipe dry with the enclosed lens cloth. We do not recommend wiping the lenses with a dry cloth or t-shirt as it can be abrasive.

We are advocates of sustainability and craft our eyewear from eco-friendly acetate, recycled optical grade lenses, and plastic-free biodegradable packaging. Style and sustainability can coexist. As a member of 1% for the Planet, we're committed to pledging 1% of all sales to environmental causes.

Through AKILA's recycling program, you can send back your used up AKILA Eyewear and we will repair and donate them for reuse, or responsibly recycle the components. In return, we'll pay it forward and send you a discount code for a new pair. It's one of the many steps we're taking towards sustainability.

Thanks for purchasing AKILA® Eyewear. These directions for use include all the information you need to maintain, use and store your sunglasses. The product complies with European Regulation (EU) 2016/425 in accordance with standard ISO 12312-1:2022. The lenses fitted in our eyewear feature high optical precision and are impact resistant according to US FDA Regulation 21CFR801.410. 

LIMITATIONS OF USE

This eyewear is not designed to protect the wearer from all injury in the event of an impact with hard objects. Sunglasses protect eyes against the harmful and unpleasant effects of solar radiation. We remind you that sunglasses are not designed for direct observation of the sun, or for protection against artificial light sources e.g. solaria. Not suitable for driving in twilight or at night. If the eyewear impairs your peripheral vision, do not wear while driving. Put on and take off your sunglasses evenly by holding both frame arms. 

Certain lens tints may be unsuitable for traffic signal recognition: and should not be worn during Driving or Road use per ISO 12312-1:2022 and ANSI Z80.3-2018. All AKILA lenses filter 100% of UVA-UVB rays for maximum protection.

MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE

The best cleaning method is to run your sunglasses under a trickle of warm soapy water, then rinse and allow to dry. Never use aggressive products such as solvents or detergents that may adversely affect the mechanical properties of the sunglasses. Store in a dry place, at a temperature between -10°C and 35°C. After use, store the sunglasses in the case provided to protect them against possible abrasions. Use only original accessories and spare parts. Replace if broken.
