Acetate is naturally flexible and can be heat-adjusted for a precise, personalized fit. No face is perfectly symmetrical. Your frames can work with that. Small corrections can be made at home by hand, no tools needed. If you're unsure or need a more precise fit, bring them into any AKILA store or by any optical shop.

A few simple tips & tricks will keep your frames like new for a long time to come.

Acetate

Clean with a soft, lint-free cloth and optical-grade cleaner. For a deeper clean, rinse under lukewarm water and allow to air dry. Avoid dry cloths, t-shirts, or abrasive materials — they scratch lenses and coatings. Keep frames out of direct sunlight and enclosed hot spaces. Heat softens acetate and can warp the frame.

Titanium

Rinse with lukewarm water and dry with a soft, lint-free cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive cleaners, which can damage coatings and finish. Titanium is corrosion-resistant and holds its shape under daily use — keep it stored in its case when not in use to protect the lenses.
