These don't look like they cost under $200. Exceptionally well-made and well-presented. I am buying more.
I am so glad I discovered this brand. Fantastic quality! So great (my boyfriend has even decided to get *several* pairs!) I will definitely be ordering more from this brand. It's exciting when you discover a company who actually designs well-made product. As a fellow designer myself, these guys know what they're doing. You won't regret buying from Akila. These are my new summer staple and I'm so excited about it! <3
I recently bought a pair of the ‘task force’ glasses because not only do I like how yellow lenses look, I fell in love with the nose pads that were a part of the glasses frame, a feature that’s super hard to find on an aviator style.. but absolutely necessary if you’re someone who moves your glasses to the top of your head and has long hair. I was very hesitant at the price point but I decided to splurge. I am so glad I did! You can truly feel the quality of these glasses. They surpass any expectation I had for them. I’m so pleased with my purchase. I definitely want to order from Akila again. Thank you!
AKILA Eyewear is designed to last & handcrafted from eco-friendly plant-based cellulose acetate.
Cellulose acetate is a natural bioplastic made from the fibers of cotton or wood pulp. This compound is then mixed with various colored dyes, block casted, then sliced into sheets or chipped into tiny color pellets. The final product is biodegradable and renewable.
AKILA is an independent eyewear brand based in Los Angeles focused on handmade unisex sunglasses at anti-industry pricing.
Part of our mission is to provide a platform for brands and creatives to express their progressive outlooks. By providing access to better manufacturing and technical assistance, brands can offer new and exciting eyewear at a better quality than what they previously had within reach.
AKILA frames are handcrafted from premium acetate and stainless steel with Optical Class 1 nylon lenses. Each style goes through meticulous design, engineering and production processes to ensure top quality eyewear.
Every pair of sunglasses takes over 90 days to complete and requires more than 100 steps from start to finish.
